Contact us
A real person reads these. We are a small desk, so allow a working day or two — but if money is moving right now, ring your bank first and us second.
The newsdesk
Story tips, questions about something we published, and anything to do with the website, the newsletter or the Android app. This is the address to use if you are not sure which address to use.
Corrections and complaints
editor@financialregister.com.au
If we have published something wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Corrections on this site are dated and permanent — we do not quietly edit a page that was wrong.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you are not stuck with it. The Financial Register is bound by the Australian Press Council’s Standards of Practice, and the Council takes complaints about us directly, free of charge, on 1800 025 712. That is a body we do not control, which is the point of naming it here.
The Android app
Problems with The Financial Register app on Google Play — a crash, a screen that will not load, a notification that will not stop — go to info@kangaroofern.com. Tell us your phone model and what you were doing when it happened, and we can usually work out the rest. What the app does and does not collect is set out on our privacy page.
Who publishes this

More about how this desk works, what we take money for and what we refuse, is on the about page.
What we cannot do
We are journalists, not investigators. We do not chase a scammer, contact anyone on your behalf, or recover money. If you have lost money, ring your bank on the number printed on the back of your own card, then report it to Scamwatch and ReportCyber. If you are in danger, ring 000.
