Singaporean national pleads guilty in $245 million crypto theft RICO case

Malone Lam pleaded guilty to racketeering charges on Tuesday for leading a scam ring that stole more than $245 million in cryptocurrency, according to The Record.
Lam, 22, will appear in U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. on December 8 for sentencing, which carries a prison term ranging from 7 to 20 years. Prosecutors said the group used social engineering tactics, including impersonating customer service representatives from Apple and Google to access victim accounts.
