Authorities tracing the Origin Energy cyber hack have linked the incident to a former Accenture employee in Manila, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The security breach exposed the personal data of approximately 900,000 current and former customers, Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports.

Accenture declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation, while an Australian Federal Police spokesperson said investigators are gathering evidence and identifying those responsible, David Taylor reports for ABC business (AU).
