Victorian authorities suspended a business from a state energy efficiency scheme on Tuesday after accusing the company of submitting digitally altered photos and falsified customer details.

The Essential Services Commission said Royal One Pty Ltd had its accreditation under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program suspended following an investigation by the commission's fraud taskforce.

"The taskforce uses data, tip-offs and other intelligence to identify areas of unusual activity and in this case, uncovered what we allege to be deliberate and fraudulent conduct from Royal One," Essential Services Commission Chairperson and Commissioner Gerard Brody said, according to the ABC.

Royal One has been contacted for comment, the ABC reports.
