The United States disrupted a Chinese hacking operation that targeted the Justice Department, NASA, the Federal Reserve and the Senate, according to the Justice Department. Officials said on Aug 27 2026 that they seized internet domains used by two platforms involved in the campaign.

The Justice Department said the platforms were operated by a China-based firm whose clients included China's civilian intelligence agency and military. The Chinese embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Beijing routinely denies responsibility for hacking activity, iTnews reports.
