Independent Australian bookstores and authors are struggling to stock shelves six weeks after a cyber attack hit a major book distributor, according to ABC business (AU) reporting on Thursday.

Hachette Australia said unauthorised activity occurred on July 18 within the computer systems of its distribution subsidiary, Alliance Distribution Services.
