A 30-year-old Sydney-based telecommunications employee has been charged with allegedly accessing customer data and selling it to criminal groups, iTnews reports.

NSW Police arrested the man at a station in Sydney's west following a referral from Queensland Police, according to iTnews. The charges include 12 counts of dealing with identity information to commit an indictable offence, 12 counts of unauthorised function with intent to commit a serious offence and 10 counts of agent corruptly receiving a benefit.
