The Australian Government has released exposure draft legislation to update privacy laws and address risks from artificial intelligence and wearable devices, the Attorney-General's Department said.

Submissions on the proposed Privacy Amendment (Personal Data Protection) Bill 2026 close on Friday 18 September 2026, consultations.ag.gov.au reports.
