Andrew Wilkie, Independent MP

Andrew Wilkie, the independent MP, said on ABC News Australia that designing AI guardrails should not be left to politicians without the necessary expertise.

He said:

“Exactly what they look like isn't for a politician with an arts degree to design here and now, it's really for guardrails would look like, how we implement them and how we make them effective.”

Wilkie earlier called for the government to stop reacting to threats and move proactively to defend Australia's systems against AI attacks.
