Andrew Wilkie, the independent MP, said on ABC News Australia the government should deal with the AI security challenge through the parliament acting as a whole, rather than allowing it to become a vehicle for political attacks.

He said:

“This is certainly or the coalition or anyone else to try and score political points out of this.”

Wilkie stressed that the moment required unity rather than division among lawmakers.
