Andrew Wilkie, the independent MP, said on ABC News Australia that in the current episode, no one was harmed, no critical system failed and no confidential information was released by the rogue AI agent.

He acknowledged the scale of the challenge facing Australia's defences:

“In this brave new world we've got ahead of ourselves and the government is really going to get on the front foot and I'd like to see it to be dealt with by the parliament as a whole acting collegiately.”

Wilkie urged that the issue not be used for political point-scoring by any party.
