Gallagher says OpenAI's email notification of breach 'not acceptable'

Speaking to ABC Afternoon Briefing, Katie Gallagher, the Minister for Government Services, said the government raised concerns with OpenAI about how the company chose to notify officials of the breach.
Gallagher said the government believed the breach should have been escalated far more urgently.
OpenAI became aware of the incident in August and reported it through Services Australia's email on 10 September, several weeks after it was first discovered.
They were some of the questions we put, including that it's not acceptable to go to an email through that. When we had an incident like this occur we believed it should have been escalated a lot higher and a lot earlier and we've made that point to open AI and I think it's one they've accepted.
