The manner and timing of OpenAI's notification of the breach are not acceptable, Katie Gallagher, the Minister for Government Services, told ABC Afternoon Briefing.

Gallagher said the Prime Minister has been very clear on the issue. "The nature of how we got alerted to this is not acceptable and the time it took to alert us to this incident is also not acceptable," she said.

Government officials are now working to understand more detail around the timeline through technical exchanges with OpenAI, Gallagher added.
