The US has imposed sanctions on a Dubai-based cryptocurrency exchange for facilitating financial transactions for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Reuters reporting.

The action follows an investigation by Reuters into how crypto platforms have been used to circumvent Western financial restrictions on Iranian military and intelligence bodies, Channel NewsAsia business reports.
